The family of Robert "Bob" Thomas Crowley Sr. of Brookhaven, PA is saddened to announce his passing on July 10, 2024 at the age of 84. He was born on October 15, 1939 in Chester, PA to the late Carl Alexander Crowley and Mary Durkin Crowley.
Bob grew up in Chester's Second Ward, and graduated in 1957 from St. James Catholic High School. He began working at Congoleum Corporation in Marcus Hook after high school where he started in the mailroom and retired 46 years later as a supervisor in 2003. His time at "The Congo" was interrupted from 1963 to 1965 as he served in the U.S. Army as a Specialist stationed mostly at Ft. Eustis in Newport News, VA. He later earned an Associate of Arts Degree in Business Management from Goldey-Beacom College in 1975.
In 1966, Bob married his loving wife, the former Diane Eisenhardt of Aston. The couple lived in Boothwyn, PA and New Castle, DE before finally settling down in Brookhaven in November of 1976. Together, their lives revolved around raising their four children.
In his spare time, Bob enjoyed watching and talking about Philly sports, especially the Eagles, traveling and dining out. However, his favorite thing to do was running around visiting family and friends. He was also a member of Our Lady of Charity Catholic Church, the Knights of Columbus Peace Council, and the St. James Alumni Association
He will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 58 years, Diane; two daughters, Jean Haley (Jim) and Joyce Crego, both of Aston; two sons, Bob (Dana) Crowley of Leesville, SC and Dan Crowley of Woodlyn; and two sisters, Dorothy Crowley of Ridley Park and Barbara Maiorano of Downingtown. He also leaves behind seven grandchildren: Stephen and Sean Haley; Keith, Connor and Chloe Crego; and Logan and Lauren Crowley.
He was predeceased by his parents; his sister, Helen A. McGowan; and his brothers Eugene R. Crowley, David F. Crowley and Joseph E. Crowley.
Funeral Mass 10:30 AM Monday, July 15, 2024 at Our Lady of Charity R.C. Church, 231 Upland Rd., Brookhaven, PA 19015 where relatives and friends may call 9:15 to 10:15 AM. Burial Mount Hope Cemetery, Aston.
