Robert R. Short, 89 a lifelong resident of Essington died January 20, 2015 at Crozer-Chester Medical Center. Born in East Pittsburgh he was a son of the late Harry and Grace McCoy Short.

Bob was a graduate of Ridley Park High School, class of 1946 and a US Navy Veteran who served during World War II. He was employed as an Industrial Engineer at the Westinghouse Corporation for 42 years, retiring in 1983. Bob was a member of St. John's Tinicum Memorial Lutheran Church. He was also a lifetime member of Fox-Smith Post #4845 VFW, a 50 year member of the Boys Scouts of America, F. & A.M. 578 Prospect Park, Chapter Comandry, and a former member of the Tinicum Township Seniors. Most importantly he was devoted to his family.

He was the husband of 56 years of the late Emma L. Klein Short, who died November 25, 2009; father of the late Charles R. "Chuck" Short, who died September 24, 2001; and the brother of the late D. Emmett Short.

Survivors: husband of 3 years of Judy Boone Short; father of Gary R. Short (MoLin), Rev. Raymond E. Short (Barbara) and Daniel H. Short (Mary); brother of Richard H. Short and C. Bernard Short; grandfather of Catherine Schendel (Matthew), Kelsey McClelland (Matthew), Michael, Andrew, Nikole and Maria Short; great-grandfather of Benjamin Schendel. He was also the step-father of Emily Singh (Adish) and step-grandfather of Chloe and Gracie.

Funeral Service: 11 AM Monday at St. John Tinicum Memorial Lutheran Church, 601 Jansen Ave., Essington, PA 19029, where friends may call after 10 AM.
