Robert J. Redfern, Jr., 90, former resident of Ridley Township and Brookhaven, died March 29, 2018 at his South Jersey home. Born in Overbrook, he was the son of the late Robert J. Redfern, Sr. and Mary Elizabeth Love.
Bob was a graduate of Lower Merion High School and St. Joseph's University. He served in the US Army during the Korean War. Bob was employed as an accountant for Conrail for 42 years before retiring in 1990. He was a member of the American Legion and a former member of Our Lady of Peace R.C. Church and Notre Dame de Lourdes R.C. Church. During his retirement, Bob volunteered his time and talent at the Marianist Center in Chester and at Leiper Presbyterian Church in Swarthmore.
He was predeceased by his first wife, Genevieve A. Ruppel Redfern and his brother, Samuel Redfern.
Bob is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Angelina Marie Ianna Redfern; his daughters from his first marriage, Mary Burns (Michael), Kathleen Davey (Michael), Nancy Mottola (Steven), and Patricia Friel (Patrick), as well as nine grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
Funeral Mass: 11:00 AM Saturday, April 7, 2018 at Notre Dame de Lourdes R.C. Church, 1000 Fairview Road, Swarthmore, PA 19081, where relatives and friends may call from 10:00-10:45 AM
