Robert L. Mervine of Wilmington, DE died on January 26, 2019 at the age of 82 in his home, surrounded by his family.

Born in Chester, he was son of the late Harry and Lilly Mae Kain Mervine and lived in Nether Providence before moving to his late residence in 2005.

Bob worked as an Operator at Scott Paper Company for 32 years, retiring in 1998. Bob served as Vice President of Local 448 Brotherhood of Paper workers for 5 years.

He was a graduate of Nether Providence High School, class of 1955, where he played football and baseball.

Bob was a member of St. George Greek Orthodox Church, where he volunteered with their Food Festivals.

He was an avid boater, and enjoyed traveling to California, Las Vegas, Greece and winters in Florida, but most important to him was his family. His favorite pastime was weekend drives with his wife of 57 years, Mary, in his beige T-top Corvette.

Bob was the loving husband to Mary Nicolaides Mervine, whom he married in 1961; devoted father to Robert G. Mervine (Sondra), Maria Kraft (Michael) and Mark J. Mervine (Marianne); grandfather to Alexandra and Nicholas Kraft, Danielle, Alexa and Mark Mervine.

Funeral Service 11:00AM Wednesday, January 30, 2019 at St. George Greek Orthodox Church, 30 E. Forge Road, Media, PA 19063 where friends may call after 10:00AM. Burial Mount Hope Cemetery.
