Robert J. Lechette, Sr., 86, of Swarthmore, died on May 2, 2022 at his home.  Born in Philadelphia, the son of the late Richard and Elizabeth Farren Lechette, Sr., he lived in Secane and Fort Myers, FL before moving to Swarthmore one year ago.

Robert was a proud veteran of the US Army who served during the Korean War.  During his service he received the Good Conduct Medal and the National Defense Service Medal.  Robert was employed as a Supervisor at SEPTA for 38 years before retiring in 1994.  He was a member of the VFW Post #86 and the American Legion Post #336 in Ft. Myers, FL.  Robert loved western movies, boating and fishing but most important was time with this family.

He was husband of the late Joanne Maher Lechette, father of Anthony John Lechette (Beth), Stephen Lawrence Lechette and the late Robert Joseph Lechette, brother of John Lechette and the late Richard James Lechette; grandfather of Anthony, Jr., Samantha, Ronin, Sydney and the late Crystal Ann Lechette, and great-grandfather of Kamren and Alivia.

Visitation 7 to 9 PM Tuesday, May 10, 2022 at the White-Luttrell Funeral Home, 311 N. Swarthmore Avenue, Ridley Park, on Wednesday, May 11, 2022 his funeral cortege will form at 10 AM at the funeral home to process to Valley Forge Memorial Gardens.
