Robert F. Klecko, 80, of Aston, passed away peacefully on February 4, 2026. Born in Chester, he was the beloved son of the late Thaddeus and Stella (Czernik) Klecko.
Robert was a 1963 graduate of St. James High School and earned his bachelor’s degree from Pennsylvania Military College (now Widener University) and a master’s degree from Temple University. Before beginning his lifelong career in education, he traveled extensively throughout Europe, soaking in the art, history, and culture of each country he visited. These adventures sparked a lifelong curiosity and a love of learning that he shared with everyone around him.
He dedicated more than three decades to teaching, inspiring countless young minds at Eddystone Elementary and Lakeview Elementary Schools in the Ridley School District until his retirement in 1998. Robert was known for his patience, kindness, and unwavering dedication to his students. Many former students remember him not only as a teacher but as a mentor who made learning engaging and meaningful.
A devoted member of the former St. Hedwig Church in Chester, Robert had a special gift for bringing beauty and joy to others. He lovingly created hand-made floral arrangements to decorate the church altar for every holiday and season, an expression of his creativity, attention to detail, and devotion to his faith and community.
Robert was the loving husband of the late Rosemary E. (Blythe) Klecko, with whom he shared 40 wonderful years of marriage before her passing on October 31, 2025. He was the proud father of Christopher R. Klecko, Maria A. Klecko, and the stepfather of Daniel A. Ruggieri (Gina), Anthony “Tony” V. Ruggieri (Rosemarie), Michael N. Ruggieri (Kelly), Dennis M. Ruggieri, and the late Steven Ruggieri. He is also survived by nine grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Robert was the brother of the late Theodore Klecko.
Robert will be remembered for his gentle spirit, his devotion to family, his love of teaching, and the beauty he brought into the world through his hands and heart. His legacy lives on in the lives he touched and the memories he leaves behind.
A Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated at 11:00 AM on Thursday, February 12, 2026, at the White-Luttrell Funeral Home, 3551 Concord Rd., Aston, where relatives and friends may call after 10:00 AM. Burial will be private.
