Obituary

Robert E. Hite, Jr., 88 of Upper Chichester died June 27, 2013 at his home. Born in South Boston, VA, son of the late Robert E., Sr. and Margaret Duncan Hite, Mr. Hite lived in Richmond, VA and Philadelphia prior to moving to his late residence six and a half years ago.

Robert was a graduate of Armstrong High School in Richmond, VA Class of 1941 and attended Drexel University. He was a U.S. Army Veteran serving during World War II. He was employed at Radio Corporation of American (RCA) for 30 years, retiring in 1988. Mr. Hite was a member of St. Paul's Episcopal Church and was previously a member of St. Philips Church in Richmond, VA and The House of Prayer in Philadelphia where he was very active in the church community. Robert was a member of American Legion Henry Hopkins Post #881 and loved fishing, bowling, reading and photography.

He was husband of the late Claudia Sutton Hite who died in April of 1990 and Rosa Williams Hite who died in September of 2006, and grandfather of the late Carl A. Anderson (Dana).

Survivors: children, Gloria A. Ducker (Otis), Robert C. Hite, Sr., and Patricia Hite Jackson, brothers William Hite (Susie) and Hollis Hite (Janice), grandchildren Robert C. Hite, Jesse T.D. Anderson, L. Anthony Williams, Tiffany J. Peters (Stefen) and Maurice Battle , eleven great-grandchildren and one soon to be, two great-great grandchildren, a very special brother-in-law Millard "Milt" Sutton (Karen), and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.

Burial Rite and Eucharist 10 AM Saturday at St. Paul's P.E. Church, 301 E. Ninth St. Chester, PA 19013 where friends may call 9 to 9:45 AM. Burial Private.
