Robert F. Hall, Jr. 98 of Aston, died May 11, 2022 at his home.
Born in Chester to the late Robert F. and Hannah Cronin Hall and has lived in Aston since 1970.
He was a U.S. Army veteran and was a member of the Ammunition and Pioneer Platoon of the 3
rd
Battalion, 119
th
Infantry seeing battle campaigns in Normandy, Northern France where he earned The Silver Star by disabling a German Panzer Tank, The Ardennes and Germany.
His story was captured in Dwight Eisenhower's son book titled "The Bitter Woods". In 2014, he received the French Legion of Honour, which was presented at the French Embassy in Washington, DC.
Robert was an operator for Philadelphia Electric Company for 40 years, retiring in 1986.
He was a member of The Church of St. Joseph, a graduate of Chester High School and was inducted into the Delaware County Sports Hall of Fame. He enjoyed baseball and formerly coached Aston-Middletown Little League.
Robert was the husband of the late Anne Jennings Hall who died in 2016 and brother of the late Edward, Richard and George Hall.
He is survived by his son, James R. Hall; also his sister Florence DiCamillo.
