Rita M. McAndrew 87 of Upland, died November 21, 2013 at her son's home in Brookhaven.
Born in Chester, she lived in Aston before moving to her late residence eight years ago.
Rita was a teacher's aide for the Chester Upland School District for 15 years, retiring in 2002.
She was a member of St. Rose of Lima R.C. Church, Ladies Auxiliary VFW Post 1521 in Chester, where she was past president, the Crozer Auxiliary volunteers, the St. Mary Magdalene Seniors and her weekly card club.
She was wife of the late Bernard W. McAndrew, who died in 1971, mother of the late Michael McAndrew (Kathleen), daughter of the late Ralph O. Woodrow and Madeline Woodrow Shields, step daughter of the late Joseph Shields and sister of the late Ralph Woodrow.
Survivors: her sons James P. McAndrew (Kathryn), Bernard W. McAndrew, Jr. (Jacque), Robert J. McAndrew (Audrey), Ralph P. McAndrew and Patrick J. McAndrew; her brother Joseph Shields, Jr. (Joan); 16 grandchildren and 31 great grandchildren; also many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Visitation 8:15 to 9:15AM Tuesday, November 26, 2013 at the White-Luttrell Funeral Home, 311 N. Swarthmore Ave., Ridley Park.
Funeral Mass 10:00AM at St. Rose of Lima R.C. Church, Chester Pike and Simpson St., Eddystone. Burial Lawn Croft Cemetery.
