Rita T. Jones

Rita T. Jones (nee Manera), (84) formerly of Woodlyn died on August 20, 2026 at her daughter's home. Born in Sicily, Italy, the daughter of the late Rosario and Rosaria Mancuso Manera, she and her family immigrated to the United States in 1952, settling in Crum Lynne.

Rita was a graduate of Ridley Township High School, class of 1963 and was formerly a longtime member of St. Rose of Lima R.C. Church in Eddystone. Her hobbies included gardening, needlework and cooking, but most important was time spent with her family.

She was the loving wife of the late Robert W. Jones, mother of Richard Jones (Melissa) and Gina Dolan (James), grandmother of Michael, Gianna, Nicholas, Ashley, Alexander and Erica, and she was the sister of Tina Maddesi, Carmella Pontillo, Maria Marinelli and the late James Manera, Paul Manera, Josephine Miller and Lucky Stitz. Special thank you to her caretaker and friend Debbie Franklin and neice Donna Yeager for all the love and care you provided when she needed it the most.

A Funeral Mass will be held at 11 AM on Friday, September 4, 2026 at St. Thomas the Apostle R.C. Church, 430 Valleybrook Rd., Glen Mills where a visitation will take place from 9:30 to 10:45 AM. Entombment in SS. Peter & Paul Cemetery will follow Mass.
