Richard D. "Rich" Oropeza, Jr. 45, of Aston, died April 6, 2014 at Crozer Chester Medical Center due to complications following surgery.

Born in Chester, he lived in Linwood before moving to Aston 31 years ago. Rich was a graduate of Sun Valley High School, class of 1986 and a U.S. Navy veteran.

He enjoyed photography and fishing but most important to him was time spent with his family, especially his sons. Rich has been very helpful in providing care for his parents during the past two years.

Rich was son of the late Richard D. Oropeza, Sr. and brother of the late Melissa Meadows.

Survivors: his sons Richard D. Oropeza, III and Matthew T. Oropeza; mother Bonnie C. O'Flynn and her husband Geoff O'Flynn; his grandson Ayden V. Oropeza: siblings Renea Oropeza, Heather Evans, Anthony Oropeza and Melanie Oropeza; stepbrothers Michael O'Flynn, Geoffrey O'Flynn and Joseph Koperna; stepsisters Jacqueline O'Flynn and Danielle Koperna; also aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.

Visitation:  12 Noon Friday, April 11, 2014 at the White-Luttrell Funeral Home, 3551 Concord Rd., Aston

Burial:  Lawn Croft Cemetery

Reception:  following burial at the Aston-Beechwood Fire Company Banquet Hall
