Richard J. "Buddy" Fachet Sr., 81 of Woodlyn, PA died on November 13, 2025 at Riddle Hospital in Media due to complications from diabetic neuropathy and pneumonia. Born in Upland, PA he was the son of the late William Adam and Mary Rita Subers Fachet. Buddy attended Our Lady of Peace School, then St. James High School in Chester, PA from 1958-1962; then graduated from Ridley High School, class of 1963. He was a resident of Woodlyn for most of his life except when residing in Brookhaven from 1970-1978 when he was first married. He was a lifelong member of Our Lady of Peace R.C. Church. Buddy was a former member of the Woodlyn Fire Company #67, and the Independent Order of Foresters. He was installed in the Ridley Township Old Timers for his days of playing fast-pitch softball. He enjoyed a twenty-two year long career at Westinghouse as an operator of gas turbines before retiring in 1986 upon their closure. He then chose to be a stay-at-home-dad. He loved owning, driving and fixing up his old cars; especially Cadillacs from every decade. He enjoyed landscaping, painting, and working with his hands. He also was an avid Philadelphia sports fan. Buddy loved spending summers in Wildwood, NJ his whole life. His main passion was Doo-Wop and Rock-and Roll Music from the 1950's and 60's. Buddy's love of music will live on forever through all who knew him.
He was the loving husband for 55 years of Susan J. White Fachet, devoted father of Richard J. "Rick" Fachet, Jr. (Beth) and MarySue Fachet, of Woodlyn, grandfather of Cindy Fachet and Billy Fachet and brother of Billy Fachet and Barry Fachet.
Funeral Mass 11:00 AM Friday, November 21, 2025 at Our Lady of Peace R.C. Church, 208 Milmont Ave., Milmont Park, PA 19033 where relatives and friends may call 9:30 to 10:45 AM. Burial will follow in SS. Peter & Paul Cemetery in Springfield, PA.
