Richard Lloyd Batty, 81, of Ridley Park, died peacefully October 12, 2015 at Taylor Hospice with his girls by his side. Born in Philadelphia, he was son of the late Richard Thomas and Gomard Humphries Batty.
A US Army Veteran and a member of Horeb-Phoenix Lodge #0432, F. & A.M., he was a devoted family man with a gentle way and always offered support to his children, grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Richard was owner/operator of Gabe's Speedometer Service in Philadelphia. He was a wonderful husband, father, brother, grandfather, uncle and friend who enjoyed country music, the outdoors, wildlife and loved his summers at the shore.
He was predeceased by his beloved wife of 60 years, Alma May "Ella May" Naylor Batty, who died Feb. 21, 2015.
Richard is survived by his daughters, Shirley Bright and Deborah Colyer (Gary); his five grandchildren; his brother, John Batty; also many nieces and nephews.
Visitation: 11:00 AM Monday, October 19, 2015 at the White-Luttrell Funeral Home, 311 N. Swarthmore Ave., Ridley Park, PA 19078 with a Memorial Service at 12:00 Noon.
