Renee H. Platt 89 of Milmont Park, peacefully passed away on August 4, 2021 at her home of 50 years.
She was born in Chester, a 1949 graduate of Chester High School, and first worked as a secretary at
Baldwin-Lima-Hamilton Locomotive.
For the last 50 years until her retirement in 2018, Renee worked side-by-side with her Son and Family as a manager of Landis Restaurant & Catering, where she was well known for her homemade soups. She loved working, interacting with customers, and making friends over those years. She missed the "action" after retirement. Although, Family was still the center of her life. Family meant everything to Renee.
Renee was a member of St. George Greek Orthodox Church, the Daughters of Penelope, the Philoptochos Society and taught Sunday School for many years at St. George.
She was the wife of the late Earl J. Platt, Jr, her husband of 24 years who died in 1987; mother of the late Baby Platt, and daughter of the late Louis and Helen Paddock Landis.
Renee is survived by her son Earl J. Platt III (Brielle); her siblings Jim Landis (Tina), Greg Landis (Mary Jo) and Henrietta "RA" Cook (Dennis); grandchildren Ryan Christopher Platt and Sienna Renee Platt; godchildren Louis Cook (Kristin) and Denise Cook; brother-in-law John Platt (Debbie); longtime friends Ella Goldenberg, Jack Kelly, and her former daughter-in-law and caregiver, Nancy Platt.
