Raymond A. "Sonny" Smith, Jr., 84, of Ridley Park died June 18, 2017 at Prospect Park Health & Rehabilitation. Born in Chester, he was the son of the late Raymond and Mae W. Osterly Smith and resided in Chester and Prospect Park before moving to his late residence 55 years ago.

Sonny served in the US Navy and was employed by Tasty Baking Company as an Electrician for 35 years before retiring in 1985. He loved boating in Long Beach Island and was known for his sense of humor. Sonny enjoyed spending time with his friends at Lehman's and Dolan's, but most important was his family.

Sonny was predeceased by his sisters, Shirley Ballard and Sally Smith Donohue.

Survivors: husband of Joan A. Ralston Smith, his wife of 59 years; father of Lauren J. Smith-Gorson (Joe) and Kyle A. Smith (Nicki); grandfather of Erica Nevin (Tommy), Nicole Smith and Taylor Gorson; great grandfather of Lina and Madden Nevin; brother of Nancy Taylor; also, many nieces and nephews.

Visitation: 9:00-11:00 AM Thursday, June 22, 2017 at the White-Luttrell Funeral Home, 311 N. Swarthmore Ave., Ridley Park, PA 19078.
