Obituary

Raymond W. Kerr 93 of Ridley Park, died May 10, 2015 at The Residence at Glen Riddle. Born in Philadelphia, he lived in Ridley Park for 56 years. He was a milkman for Quaker Maid and Sylvan Seal Dairies and was last employed at Watkins Motors. Raymond was a WWII U.S. Marine Corps veteran. His duty stations during the war included, USS Yorktown, Battle of Midway, USS Saratoga, Battle of Coral Sea, 1st Marine Division, Peleliu landings, 1st Marine Division, Okinawa landings. Ray received the Purple Heart with Star, USMC Presidential Unit Citation with Star, Asiatic-Pacific Campaign Medal with 9 Stars, USMC Good Conduct Medal and the World War II Victory Medal. He was a member of St. Rose of Lima R.C. Church, Past-Commander of American Legion Post 669 in Collingdale, and the VFW. Raymond enjoyed Delco League Softball games and the Phillies. He loved summers at Pine Haven Camp Ground and spending time with family and friends.


He was the husband of the late Dorothy M. Norbeck Kerr who died in 2014, son of the late Rowland and Anna McMullen Kerr and brother of the late Rowland Kerr.


He is survived by his children William R. Kerr, Anne E. Harding (Fred), David T. Kerr and Daniel M. Kerr (Teresa); 7 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.


Funeral Mass 10:00AM Friday at St. Rose of Lima R.C. Church, 1901 Chester Pike, Eddystone, PA 19022.


Visitation Thursday 7 to 9PM at the White-Luttrell Funeral Home. 311 N. Swarthmore Ave., Ridley Park and 9 to 9:45AM Friday at the Church.

Burial SS. Peter and Paul Cemetery.
