Obituary
Phyllis B. Briley 95 of Ridley Park, died on June 26, 2022 surrounded by family.
Born in Philadelphia, she was the daughter of the late Raymond A. Hood and Margaret Logan Hood and resided in Ridley Park until her retirement to Palm Coast, Florida in 1985. She returned to Ridley Park in 2018 to be closer to family.
Phyllis was a graduate of Notre Dame High School, class of 1945 and a member of the Church of St. Madeline. Her family would often frequent Sea Isle & Cape May, where they spent many summers together. She loved playing bridge and was an avid reader. Phyllis also was a volunteer at Taylor Hospital and former President of the Junior Board. She was a Fund Raiser for the American Heart Association for over 10 years until her retirement. One of her favorite activities was going to church at St. Madeline's on Sunday's with her niece, Kerry.
Phyllis was the wife of the late Harry B. Briley, her husband of 63 years, who died in 2012; daughter of the late Raymond A. and Margaret Logan Hood and sister of the late Margaret Hensel, Raymond Hood, Logan Hood and Dr. Joan Beck.
She is survived by her children, Christin Nicole, Dr. Margaret Briley, Phyllis Briley-Geiser (Allen) and David Briley; five grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
Funeral Mass 10:30 Am Wednesday, July 13, 2022 at The Church of St. Madeline, 400 Morton Ave., Ridley Park , where relatives and friends may call after 9:30AM.
Burial Washington Crossing National Cemetery at 11:30AM Thursday, July 14, 2022.
In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to the above Church, Compassionate Care Hospice or the Alzheimer's Association.
