Philip S. Liberatore, 77 of Brookhaven died on July 1, 2023 at his home, surrounded by his family. Born in Philadelphia, the son of the late Pasquale and Catherine Della Pace Liberatore. He lived in Ridley Park for 40 years before moving to Brookhaven 13 years ago.
Philip was a graduate of West Catholic High School for Boys, class of 1963 where he played baseball and ran track. He went on to attend Philadelphia College of Textiles and Science and later graduated from Goldey-Beacom College. Philip was a proud veteran of the US Air Force, spending one year of his 4 year tour of duty in Thailand. He was employed as the the Deputy Director in the Budget Department. He worked for the County of Delaware for 33 years before retiring in 2009 and was a member of The Church of St. Madeline and The Sports Club in Woodlyn. Philip was also an avid Philadelphia Sports fan. His passion in life was attending his grandchildren's sporting events, all 4 of them. He also enjoyed dining out and traveling.
He was the loving husband of 55 years to Kathy Longo Liberatore, father of Debbie Van Horn (Tom) and Phil S. Liberatore, Jr. (Erin). Pop Pop of Tommy Van Horn, Jr., Eric Van Horn, Zack Liberatore and Mackenzie Liberatore. He was the brother of Sandra Colbert (Bill) and Richard Liberatore.
Funeral Mass 11 AM Thursday, July 6, 2023 at The Church of St. Madeline, 400 Morton Ave, Ridley Park where relatives and friends may call 9 to 10:30 AM. Burial SS. Peter & Paul Cemetery.
