Paul M. Martin, 58, of Swarthmore died on July 5, 2015 at the home of his sister. Born in Lynn, MA, he lived in Somersworth, NH, Rochester, NH and Falls Church, before moving to his late residence 12 years ago. Paul was the son of the late Maurice Edgar Martin and Theresa Eva Marie Beaupre Martin.
He graduated from Somersworth High School, class of 1974, the University of Tampa and the University of New Hampshire with a BS in English and Psychology. Paul received his Master's Degree in Religious Studies from the University of Chicago and his Master's in Education from the University of New Hampshire. He was employed as an elementary school guidance counselor for Arlington Public Schools and previously worked for school districts in New Hampshire.
Paul's main purpose in life was to write and share his ideas with others. He wanted people to come to know the same deep peace he had found. Even during the last weeks of his life he was writing an improved proposal to submit to publishers. Sadly his works were never published, but he took comfort in knowing that he gave it his absolute best.
Throughout his illness, he remained the compassionate counselor that he has always been to his family and friends helping them to deal with the stress of his illness as well as other tragedies and loss. Amazingly, he never lost his incredible sense of humor and found ways to laugh at his situation. Paul was the strongest of men.
Paul was survived by his sister, Lynne A. Martin; also aunts, uncles and many cousins.
