Paul T. Jones, 86, lifelong resident of Essington, died January 28, 2015 at Washington Township Senior Living. Born in Philadelphia, he was the son of the late Paul W. and Margaret Steefe Jones.
Mr. Jones was a decorated World War II US Marine Corps Veteran. He was last employed as a Ramp Supervisor at Dobbs House for 24 years, retiring in 1996 and had previously been employed at the Westinghouse Corporation as a machinist. He was a member of St. Margaret Mary Alocoque R.C. Church and was a lifetime member of the Essington Fire Company. Paul was a former mummer and played the accordion. He also formed the Paul Jordan Band which played in the tri-county area for many years, but most important was his devotion to his wife and family.
He was the husband of the late Bernice Lum Jones, who died January 6, 2015, after 67 years of marriage.
Survivors: father of Paulette T. Jones-Holian (Andrij), Paul T. Jones, Jr. (Lucille) and Peter T. Jones (Lisa); also four grandchildren and a great-granddaughter.
Funeral Mass: 10 AM Saturday, February 7, 2015 at St. Margaret Mary Alacoque R.C. Church, 500 Wanamaker Ave., Essington where friends may call from 9 to 9:45 AM.
