1925-2017
Patrick J. Boyle, 91 of Wallingford formerly of Milmont Park, died March 2, 2017 at Crozer Keystone Hospice at Taylor. Born in Chester, he was son of the late Patrick Joseph and Catherine Bessinger Boyle.
Patrick was a graduate of St. James High School, class of 1943 where he played football and later played semi-professional football at Lloyd AA. He was a US Navy veteran who served during World War II and in the Battle of Iwo Jima. Patrick received the Victory Medal, American Theater Ribbon, Asiatic-Pacific Ribbon and the Philippine Liberation Ribbon. He was employed for 37 years at BP and the former Sinclair Refinery as an operator. He was a member of St. John Chrysostom R.C. Church and the Retired Oil Workers and was a former member of Our Lady of Peace R.C. Church. Patrick was an avid Phillies and Eagles fan and also enjoyed drawing as a cartoonist. He enjoyed vacationing in Ocean City, NJ and Ft. Pierce, FL but most important was his family.
He was predeceased by two sisters, Kitty Bailey and Margaret Boyle.
He is survived by his wife of 67 years Catherine McIntyre Boyle, his children Debbie Kelly (John), Colleen Boyle, Terri Borgese (Tom) and Patrick Boyle (Lillian), his sisters Mary Magaw and Barbara Kearney, also eight grandchildren and one great-granddaughter.
Memorial Mass 10 AM Thursday at St. John Chrysostom R.C. Church, 607 S. Providence Rd., Wallingford, PA 19086. Burial private.
