Harry McAlpin 85 of Eddystone, died on August 29, 2021 at Taylor Hospital surrounded by his loving family.
Born and raised in Philadelphia, he was the son of the late Elmer and Gertrude Kramer McAlpin.
Harry was a proof reader for the American Law Institute and the American Bar Association. Previously he worked at the Quint Company as a Linotype Operator.
He was a graduate of the Pennsylvania School for the Deaf.
Harry spent many summers with his wife down Fortasque surf fishing and enjoying the beautiful views. Harry loved the ocean. In his younger years Harry enjoyed his off grid cabin in the Pocono's where he went hunting and fly fishing. He also loved bowling and darts.
Harry volunteered at Elwyn Valley View Senior Home for the Deaf and the Center City Deaf Club, now the Silent Athletic Club.
He was an avid sports fan, loved the Phillies and had a great sense of humor but most important to him was his wife Kathy and his family.
Harry was the loving husband of Kathleen O'Donnell McAlpin; father of Diana Werner (Jeff), Harry W. McAlpin, Sr. (Annie), Philip B. McAlpin, Sr. (Mary) and Ruthie Byrnes (Kirk); brother of Louise Collins, Catherine Costa and Mary Taylor; also survived by 16 grandchildren, 39 great grandchildren and one great great grandson.
Funeral Liturgy Outside of Mass 12 Noon Wednesday, September 8, 2021 at the White-Luttrell Funeral Home, 311 N. Swarthmore Ave., Ridley Park where relatives and friends may call after 11:00AM. Burial private.
