Oliver "Ollie" F. Rhine, 92 of Ridley Park died on July 27, 2025. Born in Philadelphia, the son of the late James and Sarah Cooley Rhine, he lived in Yeadon before moving to Ridley Park 62 years ago.
Ollie was a proud veteran of the US Army. He recieved a bachelor's degree from Salisbury Teacher's College and a master's degree in education from The University of Pennsylvania. Ollie enjoyed a 36 year long career as a teacher in the Marple Newtown School District where he taught 5th and 6th grades before his retirement in 1994. Ollie was an active member of Christ Church Episcopal in Ridley Park where he was an usher and and previously served as Senior Warden. Ollie and his wife Floss enjoyed many trips togehter throughout the world and always loved time spent at the New Jersey Shore. Ollie was an avid fan of the Philadelphia Phillies and Penn State Football, and was a season ticked holder for both teams for many years. He was also a member of Penn State University Alumni Association, but most important was time spent with this loving family.
Ollie was the husband of 64 years to Florence "Floss" Conner Rhine, father of Keith D. Rhine (Mickey), grandfather of Andrew Wiley (Erin) and Brittany Loughead (Dan Miltner), great-grandfather of Jack and Maggie Wiley, and he was the brother of Ellen Smith and the late James Rhine, Mary Cracraft, John Rhine, Howard Rhine, Clara Rhine and Sarah Evans.
Burial Rite and Eucharist 11 AM Friday, August 1, 2025 at Christ Church Episcopal, 104 Nevin St., Ridley Park, PA 19078 where relatives and friends may call 9:30 to 10:45 AM. Burial will follow in the adjoining church memorial garden.
In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts to the above church or Ascend Hospice, 1120 Welsh Rd., North Wales, PA 19454 would be appreciated.
