Norman M. Burgess, Sr. 79 of Brookhaven, died on February 23, 2014 at Crozer Chester Medical Center.
Born in Philadelphia, he lived in Chester Township before moving to his late residence 42 years ago.
Mr. Burgess was a machinist at Boeing Company for ten years, retiring in 1995 and previously worked at the Franklin Mint.
He was a member of Our Lady of Charity R.C. Church and a graduate of Lower Merion High School, class of 1952, where he was on the Rifle team.
Mr. Burgess was a U.S. Army veteran and enjoyed fishing, hunting, bowling, working on old cars, traveling and camping with his family.
He was husband of the late Genevieve "Gen" Pinto Burgess, his wife of 37 years, who died in 1994, son of the late James and Grace Tease Burgess and brother of the late Kenneth, James, Jesse and Richard Burgess.
Survivors: his children Norman M. Burgess, Jr. (Denise), David M. Burgess (Teresa) and Jacqueline M. Sgro (Robert); brother of Fred Burgess; also four grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
Funeral Liturgy 10:30AM Friday, February 28, 2014 at the White-Luttrell Funeral Home, 311 N. Swarthmore Ave., Ridley Park where friends may call 9AM to 10:30AM. Burial SS. Peter and Paul Cemetery.
