Obituary

Norma S. Locke (nee Pierce) of Aston died on November 16, 2025.  Born in Chester, the daughter of the late John and Katherine Shusman Pierce lived in Chester before moving to Aston 61 years ago.

Norma attended Chester High School and during her career had worked at Bell Telephone Company in Chester, in the office of Dr. Leonard P. Rosen, at Sunroc Corporation, Foamex International Inc., and most recently at Specialteas Tea Room in Chadds Ford.  She was a former member of Resurrection of Our Lord Parish in Chester (where she was a member of the Sodality) and was currently a member of The Church of St. Joseph in Aston. Norma was always active in Aston and Delaware County politics. She was a past president of the Delaware County Women's Club, a former Judge of Elections, and was a Pennsylvania State Committee Member.  She was also a member of both the Aston Township and Delaware County Republican Women's Clubs as well as the Aston Historical Society.  Norma volunteered for Meals on Wheels, at the Crozer Hospital Thrift Shop, and at the Plank House in Marcus Hook.

Norma enjoyed spending time at her beach house in Pot Nets (Long Neck, DE), crocheting, attending Bible study classes with her friends, completing word search puzzles, and collecting then donating the money she would find while walking her daily route through Aston. Most important to Norma was her loving family; especially her cherished grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She was the loving wife of the late Raymond J. Locke, mother of Theresa Marie Friis (Jan), Sharon Ann Dugan, Jennifer Rose Baker (Bruce) and the late Raymond J. Locke, II (Maria Giovanni). She is survived by her sister Frances Russel (the late David Russel), Edward Pierce (Patricia), and Thomas Pierce (Kay). She was preceded in death by her siblings the late John Pierce, Jr., Morris Pierce, Rosemary Pierce, and Charles Pierce. She is also survived by eight grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
