Nicolas "Nick" Nika

Nicolas “Nick” Nika, age 85, of Coatesville, Pennsylvania, passed away on September 10, 2026.

Nick was born on January 8, 1941, in Buenos Aires, Argentina, to the late Juan Carlos Nika and Basilica Tsangolous Nika. He was a devoted husband to his beloved wife, Ofelia Cadenasi Nika, whom he first met when he was just fifteen years old. Their lifelong bond grew into a loving marriage that spanned 60 years.

Nick retired from Scott Paper, where he built a respected career as a skilled machinist and mechanic. He took great pride in his work and was known for his dedication, craftsmanship, and ability to fix just about anything. Nick was equally known for his warmth, quick wit, and unmistakable personality.

He had a wonderful sense of humor and a way of bringing laughter and energy to any gathering. Nick enjoyed many of life’s simple pleasures, especially cooking, fishing, and spending time with the people he cared about most. He was also a passionate fan of Argentine fútbol and especially loved cheering on Argentina during the World Cup. His Greek heritage and his deep love for the country of his birth were both meaningful parts of his identity and remained close to his heart throughout his life.

Above all, Nick cherished his family and the friendships he built over the years. He was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, and loyal friend. He had a natural way of making people feel welcome and will be remembered for his generosity, humor, companionship, and the countless stories and memories he shared with those around him.

Nick is survived by his wife, Ofelia Cadenasi Nika; his son, Omar Nika, and daughter-in-law, Maria Nikodemski Nika; his grandchildren, Bryce R. Nika and Nicholas S. Mello; and his sister, Maria Elena Paluci, along with extended family and many dear friends who will continue to cherish his memory.

Nick will be laid to rest in a private service attended by his immediate family and closest friends, honoring his life in the company of those who knew and loved him most.

Nick will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. His warmth, laughter, devotion to family, and memorable spirit will live on in the hearts of those whose lives he touched.
