Nicholas Doperak, 87, of Swarthmore, died September 17, 2016 at Fair Acres Geriatric Center. Born and raised in Philadelphia, he has lived in Ridley Township since 1971.
He was last employed by the Ridley School District as a landscaper and previously was a welder at Cornell Iron Studio in Philadelphia. Nicholas was a U.S. Army veteran, serving during WWII, receiving the Victory Medal and the Occupational Medal. He was a graduate of Bartram High School and enjoyed fishing, playing pool and was a Philadelphia sports fan.
Nicholas was father of the late James Doperak; son of the late Nicholas and Katherine Kuruk Doperak and brother of the late Paul and Frank Doperak.
He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Eleanor M. Andrews Doperak; his children, Jeannette Horn (Jack) and Nicholas Doperak (Theresa); six grandchildren, four great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
