Michael J. Wilson, 78, of Brookhaven for 53 years, passed peacefully February 25, 2019 at Riddle Memorial Hospital. Born in Philadelphia and raised in Chester, he was the son of the late Robert and Nano Phillips Wilson.
Michael attended Resurrection School and St. Michael's School. He became a Baker and learned his trade at Spohrer's Bakery in Collingdale. Michael was last employed by Kyj's Bakery, previously worked at Hanscom's, Nussex Farm and was self-employed at Michael's Bakery. He was a member of Resurrection Episcopal Church and a former member of St. James Episcopal where he sang in the choir, served on the Vestry and member of the Men's Club. Michael bowled for St. James in the Delco Church Bowling League and coached baseball for Brookhaven AA. He enjoyed listening to classic country music, golfing, reading, traveling, bow hunting when his sons could participate and was an avid Philadelphia sports fan, especially the Phillies, and he always put smiles on your face with his awesome quick wit. Michael was fond of his very loyal companion, his dog, Phoebee.
Michael is survived by his wife of 56 years, Ann Wilson (Wright); children, Michael "Bryan" Wilson, Robin D., Kelly A., Joseph W. (Keri), and Eric C.; siblings, Charles Wilson, Robert, John, William, Margaret (Snapitis) and Martin; and five grandchildren, with his granddaughter McKinzie holding a very special place in his heart.
Burial Rite and Eucharist: 11:00 AM Saturday, March 9, 2019 at Resurrection Episcopal Church, 667 Mount Rd., Aston, PA 19014, where relatives and friends may call from 9:45 to 10:45 am.
