Michael S. Galczynski, 90, of Ridley Park died on July 20, 2018 at Naaman's Creek County Manor. Born in Chester, son of the late Michael and Mary Jaskula Galczynski, he lived in Chester before moving to his late residence 21 years ago.
Michael was a veteran of the US Army, serving during World War II. He was employed at Wawa Dairies for 30 years, retiring in 1993, and has been the Sacristan at St. Katharine Drexel R.C. Church for 51 years. Mike was a lifetime member of the Felton Fire Company and he enjoyed crabbing, fishing, hunting and gardening. He was also an avid story teller and historian. He was devoted to his family, especially his cherished grandchildren.
He was husband of the late Josephine "Pina" Minetti Galczynski, and brother of the late Annie Nacrelli, Helen Founds, Betty Quinzi, Joseph, Casimir and Edward Galczynski.
He was father of Thomas G. Galczynski (Susan E. Hutchinson), Mary Jo Galczynski and Lisa A. Speakman, father-in-law to Paul J. Speakman, grandfather to Michael C. Galczynski, Emily A. and Patrick T. Speakman, brother to Sophia DiEmidio.
Funeral Mass 10:30 AM Wednesday at St. Katharine Drexel R.C. Church, 20th St. and Providence Ave, Chester, PA, where friends may call 9 to 10:15 AM. Burial SS. Peter & Paul Cemetery.
