Michael J. Finnegan, 39, of Philadelphia died July 2, 2017 at his home. Born in Darby, he was the son of the late Michael W. and Mary E. Moore Finnegan and was a lifelong resident of Philadelphia.

Michael was a graduate of De La Salle in Town, class of 1995 and was employed as a Forklift Operator for Donnelly Distribution. He was a member of Divine Mercy R.C. Church, formerly Good Shepherd. Michael loved sports and music and enjoyed the beach, but most important was his family, especially his children and his Mom. He loved his childhood and growing up in Southwest Philly with his family and many friends.

Michael was predeceased by his wife, Nicole Doerr Finnegan, who died July 4, 2004.

Michael was the father of Erica N. Finnegan and Michael J. Finnegan, Jr.; brother of Marcy Finnegan, Kathleen Donnelly (Rich), Jennifer LeCompte (Phil), Susan Hess (John), Allison Sheehan (Nick), and Joseph Finnegan; fiancé of Chanelle Sundermeier; also, many nieces and nephews.

Memorial Mass: 10:00 AM Saturday, July 8, 2017 at Divine Mercy R.C. Church, 6667 Chester Ave., Philadelphia, PA 19142, where friends may call after 9:00 AM
