Obituary

Melvin E. Luce 93, a former longtime resident of Collier Circle in Ridley Park, died on September 22, 2022.

Mel was a plant manager for Bell-Horn for over 25 years, and previously worked at the American Viscose Company (FMC) in Marcus Hook.

He was an active member for over 65 years of the Eddystone United Methodist Church, Penn Lodge #709 F.&A.M and a U.S. Air Force veteran serving from 1948 through 1952.

Mel was an avid Phillies, Eagles and Flyers fan; went on 73 cruises over 35 years and was a Double Diamond Plus member of Royal Caribbean Cruise Lines. He was also on the Bocce Ball team at Plush Mills.

Most important to him was his devotion to his wife, children and grandchildren.

Mel was predeceased by his wife of 56 years, Betty Husted Luce, who died in 2012 and his siblings, Herschel Luce, Shirley Blair and Sharon Crane.

He is survived by his daughters, Melanie Hodge (Jim McHugh) and Cynthia Guilfoil (Andrew); his grandchildren, Corey Hodge, Kyle Hodge (Joanna), Curtis Hodge, Connor Guilfoil, Arden Guilfoil and his great grandson Caiden Hodge.

Funeral Service 10:30AM Tuesday, September 27, 2022 at the White-Luttrell Funeral Home, 311 N. Swarthmore Ave., Ridley Park, PA where relatives and friends may call after 9:30AM. Burial Chester Rural Cemetery.
