Maurice A. Orio, Jr., 92 of Swarthmore, died on November 27, 2022 at his son and daughter-in-law's home. Born in Chester, the son of the late Maurizio A. and Maria Barbato Orio, he lived in Chester until moving to Swarthmore 66 years ago.

Maurice was a graduate of Chester High School, class of 1948 and was a decorated veteran of the US Navy, serving during the Korean War. He was employed as a draftsman at Sun Ship Building and Drydock and then went on to work for the International Brotherhood of Steam Fitters and Boilermakers as well as the Delaware County Community Transit. Maurice was a member of Notre Dame de Lourdes R.C. Church. He was an avid golfer and bowler, and enjoyed carpentry, he built garages, porches and carports on each home that he owned. He also enjoyed the beach in Ocean City, NJ where he had a home. Maurice was all about family and loved spending holidays and birthday celebrating around the table.

He was husband of the late Wilma B. Harris Orio, father of Mark Orio (Mary) and Michelle Orio, brother of the late Angelina P. "Jenny" Orio, Thomas A. Orio, Victor M. "Mickey" Orio, Ruth Dolores McCracken and Vincent Orio, grandfather of Anthony Orio (Natalie), Desiree Orio and Nicole Nordgren, great-grandfather of Gianna Titerance, Payten Severa, Maurizio Orio, Anthony Crossley, Mia Orio and Santino Orio, first generation uncle of Francis (Marianne), Tom (Gail), Buddy (Judy), Karen (Dan), Veronica, David, Deidra and the late Marianne, he is also survived by many nieces, nephews and great-nieces and nephews.

Funeral Mass 10:30 AM Monday, December 5, 2022 at Notre Dame de Lourdes R.C. Church, 950 Fairview Rd, Swarthmore, PA were a visitation for relatives and friends will take place from 9:15 to 10:15 AM. Burial SS. Peter & Paul Cemetery.
