Maureen C. "Rene" O'Brien Gerety, 61, of Bridgeton, NJ died July 4, 2016 at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital. Born in Chester, she resided in Brookhaven before moving to her late residence 28 years ago.

Rene was employed by Med Partners as a medical coder for five years. She showed others the "importance of work ethic and what it means to be an autonomous, fierce, independent woman. Rene loved her animals, especially her horses. She fought against animal abuse." Most important to Rene was her family, friends and especially her grandchildren.

Rene was predeceased by her father, Joseph S. O'Brien and her siblings Patricia Ieradi and Joseph O'Brien

Survivors: daughter to Mary Meisel Daly; mother to Sean Babicki (Jamie), Michael Babicki, Jr. (Sandy), Dana Babicki-Callahan (Davie) and Megan Gerety (Nicodemo); sister to Robert McClellan, William McClellan (Marsha), Donna McClellan (Tim), Diane Sheehan (Joe) and Florence Edelman (Adam); also survived by eight grandchildren.
