MaryAnn Malick Schatz, age 88, of Aston, died on November 30, 2018 at Pocopson Home in Lenape,PA. Born in Milmont, PA, she was the daughter of the late Frank Malick Sr. and Anna Ciesielka Perez of Norwood, PA. MaryAnn was a 1948 graduate of Glen Nor High School. She married Robert Paul Schatz in 1956 and resided in Aston from 1957 to 2009. In 2009, she went to live with her daughter in Chester Springs, PA, where she resided until early November. Throughout her life, she was employed at Curtis Publishing Company, Boeing, Penn-Delco School District (crossing guard), Fiber Metal and ultimately Penn State Brandywine until her retirement in 1988.
MaryAnn was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Aston. She was known for her numerous devoted volunteer efforts which included the American Red Cross, Salvation Army Christmas Bear Program, Girl Scouts (leader), Penn-Delco School District PTL, GFWC Nether Providence, Aston Seniors, and Red Hats. She was President of the American Legion Auxiliary Post 926 Aston for over 10 years, and also held several positions, including President of the Marine Corps League Auxiliary, Delaware County Detachment, Upland. She was an avid Penn State fan. She enjoyed traveling and spending her winters at her home in Leesburg, FL. She especially loved spending time with her family and friends and was especially devoted to her grandchildren.
MaryAnn was the widow of Robert Paul Schatz, who died in November 1992. She is survived by a daughter, Maryann Schatz Mattes of Chester Springs, PA, a son, Anthony R. Schatz (Michelle) of Pittstown, NJ; grandchildren Jordan S. Mattes and Hannah C. Mattes, both of Chester Springs, PA; a sister, Sally J. Reed of Surf City, NJ; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral Service 12 Noon on Tuesday, December 4, 2018 at the White-Luttrell Funeral Home, 3551 Concord Rd., Aston, PA where friends may call after 11:00AM. Burial Edgewood Memorial Park.
