Mary R. Shields, 102 of West Chester, died on January 27, 2014 at Brandywine Hall. She was born in Lancaster, the daughter of the late George Milton and Elizabeth I. Charles Feeser. Mary lived in Chester before moving to her late residence.


Mary was employed by Robert Painter's Appliances as a bookkeeper and she was the oldest member of St. Paul's Episcopal Church. Most important to Mary was her family.


Mary was the wife of the late T. Stanley Shields, who died in 1986; she was the mother of the late Robert S. Shields, who died in 2009 and Mary Louise Shields Hannum, who died in 2010; the sister of the late Dorothy Kahlbaugh, George M. Jr., Gladys I., Hilda, Paul and Frederick Feeser.


Survivors: her daughter-in-law, Bettie Neff Shields; her son-in-law, Donald Hannum; her granddaughters, Linda Shields Osborne (George) and Debbie Shields Harnsberger (Dennis); her grandson, Jeffrey D. Hannum (Dawn); also her great grandchildren, Linda Marie DePaolo (Chris), Robert F. Harnsberger, Christine A. Harnsberger, Colton J. Hannum and Zeke C. Hannum ; and her great great grandchildren, Carter S. and Ava Mary DePaolo and Summer L.M. Harnsberger.
