Mary A. Starrantino Sgro, 93 of Ridley Park, died peacefully surrounded by her family on July 31, 2013. Born in Chester, daughter of the late Angelo and Josephine Fuimara Starrantino, Mrs. Sgro lived in Marcus Hook prior to moving to her late residence 67 years ago.
Mary was a graduate of Eddystone High School. She was a member of The Church of St. Madeline and the Sodality as well as the Ridley Park Seniors. Mary was an avid reader and was a wonderful cook and baker, she also had a love for flowers and gardening and was the #1 fan of NCIS.
She was wife of the late Samuel J. "Tony" Sgro who died December 25, 2007 after 64 years of marriage and was predeceased by three sisters and a brother.
Survivors: children Joanne Sgro, Mary Clark (Ross), Samuel Sgro (Janine), Elizabeth Bogucki (Edwin), Joseph Sgro (Betsy Joyce), Michael Sgro (Martha), Theresa Sgro and Anthony Sgro; siblings Jack Starrantino (Bernice) and Josephine Simms (Ernie); sister-in-law Mary Starrantino; also eleven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Funeral Mass: 10 AM Saturday at The Church of St. Madeline, Penn St. and Morton Ave., Ridley Park
Visitation: 7 to 9 PM Friday and 8:15 to 9:15 AM Saturday at the White-Luttrell Funeral Home, 311 N. Swarthmore Ave., Ridley Park, PA
