Mary E. Nolan Freire, 83 of Ridley Park, died July 1, 2011 at Fair Acres Geriatric Center.

Born in New York, she was the daughter of the late R. Thomas and Gladys Walters Nolan, and lived in Philadelphia before moving to Ridley Park in 1962.

Mrs. Freire was a self employed companion and previously was Assistant to the Dean at the University of Pennsylvania.

She graduated from Oswego College with a BS Degree in Education. Mrs. Freire was a member of the Ridley Park Presbyterian Church and was an avid reader, she also enjoyed trips to the shore and religious retreats.

Survivors; sons Manuel Raymond Freire, Christopher Freire and Manuel Roland "Bo" Freire (Linda), her siblings Pat Parkman, Kathleen Bell and Thomas Nolan, grandson Bo Freire and also two great-grandsons.

Memorial Service 10:30AM Thursday, July 7, 2011 at the White-Luttrell Funeral Home, 311 N. Swarthmore Ave., Ridley Park. Burial Private.
