Mary Ellen Cunningham Noel, of Bryn Mawr, passed away on January 7, 2016 after a long illness surrounded by the love of family and friends. Born in Darby and raised in Brookhaven, she was a daughter of Charles and Helen Graham Cunningham and resided in Westtown before moving to her late residence in 1984.

Mary Ellen was a longtime real estate sales agent for Duffy Real Estate in Wayne, PA. Beloved wife, mother, grandmother and friend, she was happiest with a full house of children and friends and spending time in her garden. Mary Ellen was known for her bounding creativity brought to life through needlepoint, flower arranging and culinary creations. A member of the Suburban Garden Club and blue ribbon award-winning entrant in the Philadelphia Flower Show, Mary Ellen so enjoyed giving her time to the Flower Guild of the Church of the Redeemer, Bryn Mawr. Friends and family will remember her quick wit, booming voice, love of dancing and fun.

Mary Ellen is survived by her devoted husband, George P. Noel, Esq.; she was the adoring mother of Mark J. Noel of Frederick MD, Jonathan A. Noel (Katherine) of Wyndmoor, PA, Matthew P. C. Noel (Colleen) of San Francisco, CA and Mary Elizabeth Noel Todd (David) of Mill Valley, CA; loyal sister to Carol Cunningham Base (Joseph) of Houston, TX; and grandmother of Claire, Winslow, William, Samuel, Nolan, Phoebe, Elise and Malcolm.

Burial Rite and Eucharist: 11:00 AM Saturday, January 16, 2016 at The Church of the Redeemer, 230 Pennswood Road, Bryn Mawr, PA 19010, where friends may call after 10:00 AM.
