Marcelli (Phyllis), nine grandchildren Marty, Denise, Colleen, Julia, Matthew, Mark, Samantha, Christopher & Jennifer, fifteen great-grandchildren and as the last surviving member of the original Facciolo family many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Born on December 1, 1919 Mary grew up in a large, loving Italian family in Clifton Heights. She was a graduate of Spring Garden Institute of Dressmaking and Design. Mary met her husband, Joseph at an Italian-American Dance and although he was called to serve in World War II they exchanged love letters until they were reunited. During the war Mary worked at the Philadelphia Navy Yard as an aluminum welder and was a local "Rosie the Riveter". Mary and Joseph were married November 10, 1945. The Marcellis raised their children in Drexel Hill where they were members of St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church and The Clifton Heights Swim Club.
In 1972 Mary and Joseph became snow birds escaping to the warm Florida sun during our Pennsylvania winters. Once they relocated permanently to West Palm Beach they became very active in the Golden Lakes Village community as Mary became a member of the GLV Women's Social Club, a volunteer Community Patrol Woman and a lead Bingo caller for the community games. Mary and Joseph loved to travel enjoying places like Hawaii and took many cruises together. Mary enjoyed knitting afghans, playing cards, going on bus trips to the casinos but above all she loved spending time with all of her family and friends. Mary lived life to the fullest and truly embodied the qualities of an amazing woman. She leaves a strong legacy behind and she will be deeply missed.
