Mary A. Husted

Mary A. Husted, 78 of New Castle, DE died on September 5, 2026. Born in Holmes, the daughter of the late Albert and Mary Penrose Mickle. Mary was the late sister of Mary Grace Casey, Paul Mickle and Dorothy Grimm. She lived in Folsom, PA before moving to New Castle, DE in 1993.

Mary was a graduate of Notre Dame High School for Girls, class of 1965 and had also attended Sleeper's Business College. Before retiring in 2012, she had been employed as a Billing Supervisor at Crozier Chester Medical Center and had previously worked at Parkview Hospital, St. Mary's Hospital in Philadelphia and Delaware County Memorial Hospital. During her career she also worked for Marino’s Catering and sold Longaberger Baskets and enjoyed visiting the big basket with family and friends.

Mary enjoyed traveling with her husband as well as cooking, bowling and shopping. She was also an avid Philadelphia sports fan and collected Hallmark ornaments. Mary adored her cat Emma and her dog Lady, but most important was her loving family and time with her cherished grandchildren. She was always up for any adventures that Stacie planned for them.

She was the loving wife of 56 years to Glenn J. Husted, mother of Stacie A. Husted, Glenn J. Husted, Jr. (Missy) and the late twins Mary and Joseph Husted, nannie of Tyler J. Jenkins (Morgan) Madison R. Husted (Brady) and Glenn J. Husted, III, and Mary was the sister of Robert Mickle (Toy), Rosemary Moore and Alberta Ravert.

A Funeral Service will be held at 11 AM on Thursday, September 24, 2026 at the White-Luttrell Funeral Home, 311 N. Swarthmore Ave., Ridley Park where a visitation will begin at 10 AM.
