Mary Ann Mark Custer, 83, of Chester, died on June 10, 2021 after suffering for a long time with COPD.
Mary Ann was a graduate of Notre Dame High School in Moylan, PA, class of 1955, and was involved in planning the class reunion every five years. Before becoming a mother, her favorite position in life, she worked as a secretary for two construction companies, the U.S. Navy at Cherry Point, NC, the Army Corps of Engineers at Parkersburg, WV and the Federal House Administration in Wilmington, DE. The last 20 years of her professional life were spent at the DuPont Company in Wilmington, in Public Affairs, Conoco, the Economist's Office and External Affairs, before retiring in 1993. Mary Ann always believed one benefit of living a long life was having a large treasure of happy memories, and she cherished all of them.
She was predeceased by her parents; Ted and Mary Blossic Mark and her brother Ted Mark, Jr.
Mary Ann is survived by her son, Jim Custer (Ellyn), her grandchildren; Jim Custer, Jr., Ashley Custer Heckler (Kristin), her sisters; Stella Kukulich and Susan Mark, her sister-in-law Mary Ann Mark, also cousins, nieces, nephews and a few friends who go back as far as grade school at St. Michael's in Chester.
Funeral Mass 11 AM Monday, June 21, 2021 at St. Rose of Lima R.C. Church, 1901 Chester Pike, Eddystone where friends may call after 10 AM. Burial private.
