Mary Elizabeth Belk Brotons (nee Baldwin), 95, passed away peacefully on July 17, 2021 in Williamsville, NY. She was formerly a resident of Plant City, FL, and Kingston, PA, but spent most of her life in Delaware County.
Mary was born June 24, 1926 in Collingdale, to James and Mary Baldwin. She grew up in Collingdale and attended high school there. Mary was always a hard worker, and during her long career was employed with the Philadelphia Legal Intelligencer, Ketterlinus Printing, and Fireman's Fund Insurance.
Mary was known for keeping a sense of fun and good humor even during difficult times. She was forever a champion for her family, and could always be counted on for her unwavering love and support. She was a Cub Scout den mother for her sons. A master in the art of crocheting, Mary created receiving blankets which became family heirlooms, whenever a baby was born to family or friends. Mary loved to dance, and at one time in her youth taught ballroom dancing. In her late 60's she was featured in a tap dance number at a local dance company recital and wowed the audience with her footwork.
She also enjoyed traveling, reading, and gardening, but her greatest pleasure was spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. In retirement, she was a member of The Red Hat Society.
Mary was preceded in death by her parents, step-father Floyd Falvey, brothers James Baldwin and Robert Baldwin, husbands Charles W. Belk, Sr., and Raymond Brotons, and daughter Charlene Anastasio.
Mary is survived by her children Mary Wood (Marshall), Charles W. Belk, Jr., (Donna), Donald Belk (Terry), and grandchildren Marsha Wirtel, Marla Dougherty, Michelle Johnson, Rebecca Bell, Christopher Dorrin, Luke Anastasio, Eric Recchia, Matthew Anastasio, Heather Haffey, Michael Anastasio, Daniel Belk, Kaitlin Belk, 20 great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral service 11:00AM Wednesday, August 4th, 2021, at St. Stephen's Episcopal Church, 199 W. Baltimore Pike, Clifton Heights, PA, where friends may call after 10:00AM.
Burial will be at Edgewood Memorial Park, Glen Mills, PA.
