Mary A. Mahoney Alexander, 84 Mary A. Mahoney Alexander, 84 of Downingtown died February 3, 2014 at Villa St. Martha. Born in Girardville, PA, daughter of the late John J. and Eva Kobon Mahoney, she lived in Chester prior to moving to her late residence three years ago.

Mary was a graduate of Notre Dame High School for Girls, class of 1947 and St. Francis Hospital School of Nursing, class of 1950. She was last employed as a Pediatric Nurse at Fitzgerald Mercy Hospital and was previously employed at the office of Dr. Frank Bender, M.D. She was a member of The Church of St. Joseph in Downingtown and St. Katharine Drexel R.C. Church in Chester where she was a charter member of the St. Katharine Drexel Seniors. She loved the New Jersey Shore, music and theater, but most important was her love for children.

Survivors: Her sister Marguerite A. "Peg" Mahoney and many devoted cousins, especially Betty Dolan.

Funeral Mass: 11 a.m., Tuesday, at St. Joseph Church, 338 Manor Ave., Downingtown, PA 19335, where friends may call from 10 to 10:45 a.m.

Burial: SS. Peter & Paul Cemetery.
