Markella Kouniadis Georgalas, 93, of Aston died February 15, 2018 at Crozer Keystone Hospice at Taylor. Born in Chios, Greece, she was the daughter of the late John and Maria Mallas Kouniadis and resided in Chester before moving to her late residence 12 years ago.

Markella was a member of St. George Greek Orthodox Church, where she belonged to the Chion Society. Most important to Markella was her Greek heritage and her loving family.

She was predeceased by her husband of 63 years, Andreas "Andy" Georgalas, who died August 1, 2005; her brother, Pete Kouniadis; and her granddaughter, Markella G. Georgalas, who died in 1989.

Markella was the mother of George A. Georgalas (Maria), John A. Georgalas, Pantelis A. Georgalas (Effie) and Maria A. Karavasilis (Argirios); sister of Eugenia Sitaras; also survived by three grandchildren, three great grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Funeral Service: 11:00 AM Monday, February 19, 2018 at St. George Greek Orthodox Church, 30 E. Old Forge Road, Media, PA 19063, where relatives and friends may call after 10:00 AM.
