Marion A. Imbrogno (nee Shikitino), a longtime resident of Swarthmore, peacefully passed away on her 92nd birthday on May 7, 2026 at Springfield Crossings during breakfast surrounded by her friends.
Born in Camden, NJ, the daughter of the late Salvatore and Jennie Amato Shikitino, she lived in Westville Grove, NJ before moving to Swarthmore in 1955. Marion was a graduate of Woodbury High School, class of 1952.
She had been the organist at Notre Dame de Lourdes Church for fifty years before retiring in 2020, and also previously worked as a secretary at Curtis Publishing Company.
Marion was a member of The Sentimentals (a 1960s musical group that her and several friends created that brought joy to people they sang to), the Notre Dame Players, Poetry Club, Ridley Choir, and was a longtime member of Notre Dame de Lourdes Church. She loved music, playing the piano and organ and found great joy playing at nursing homes throughout Delaware County.
Marion was proud of her Italian heritage and loved cooking sausage and peppers, meatballs, and making her gravy for her family and friends.
Marion was loved by all and always took the time to connect with people one on one to get to know them. Her phone calls and conversations were lengthy and legendary and also left people happy! Her bright light will be missed, but all of our memories will last.
She was the loving wife of the late Robert J. "Bob" Imbrogno for 59 years, mother of Bob Imbrogno (Margie), Steve Imbrogno (Linda Rossi) and Dave Imbrogno (Tina), sister of Kas DeGrazia, Rosemarie S. Pereira (Jack) and the late Salvie and Greg Shikitino. She is also survived by nine grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Visitation is 10 to 11:30 AM Friday, May 15, 2026 at Notre Dame de Lourdes Church, 1000 Fairview Rd., Swarthmore where a Funeral Mass will begin at 12 noon. Burial SS. Peter & Paul Cemetery. In memory of Marion’s bright light, feel free to wear colorful clothing.
