Marie D. Schiavello Vernon, 90


Of Newtown, PA died November 13, 2010 at her home. Born in Chester daughter of the late Frank and Mae Grieco Schiavello. Prior to moving to Newtown in 2007 Mrs. Vernon had lived in Woodlyn for sixty six years.


Mrs. Vernon was a bookkeeper for Delaware County Mental Health retiring in 1994. She was a member of St. Andrews R.C. Church in Newtown, PA and was a longtime member of Our Lady of Peace R.C. Church in Woodlyn. She was a twenty year volunteer with Taylor Hospital Junior Board. Mrs. Vernon enjoyed gardening, cooking and was an avid Philadelphia sports fan, but most important was her family and her devotion to her faith.


Mrs. Vernon was predeceased by her husband of 38 years, Paul J. Vernon who died January 22, 1979.


Mother of Paul F. Vernon (Judy) of Roseville, CA, Patricia A. D'Emilio (William C.) of Holland, PA, Carol M. Rementer (Todd) of Souderton, PA and the late Joseph P. Vernon (Karen), sister of Francis Schiavello of Palm Harbor FL and the late Joseph Schiavello. Grandmother of Lauren Hughes (Rick), Renee Rementer, Joseph Vernon, Jr., Matthew Vernon and Christa M. Vernon (Sal Randazzo). Great-grandmother of Molly and Maisy Hughes and Lucy and Jack Vernon.


Funeral Mass 10:30 AM Thursday, at Our Lady of Peace R.C. Church, 208 Milmont Avenue, Milmont Park, PA (Folsom).


Visitation 8:30 to 9:45 AM Thursday at the White-Luttrell Funeral Home, 311 N. Swarthmore Avenue, Ridley Park
