Marie Baker Troxell, 83, of Wallingford, PA, passed away on October 27, 2010 at Crozer-Chester Medical Center, Upland, PA.
Marie, born in Tunkhannock, PA, resided most of her life in Dallas, PA until recently moving to Wallingford. She was predeceased by her first husband, George W. Sherwood, Jr., Tunkhannock, PA, second husband, Wayne T. Troxell, Dallas, PA and sister, Betty Carr of LeRaysville, PA. She is survived by daughters, Sandra L. Sherwood, Harrisburg, PA, Lindsey A. Sherwood, Philadelphia, PA and Aimee L. and son-in-law, Jeffrey Schulze, New Bern, NC, her sister, Elinor Thompson, of Norristown, PA and brother and sister-in-law, Howard and Sylvia Baker of Elijay, GA, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Marie was graduated from Tunkhannock High School Class of 1945 and member of the National Honor Society. As a member of the Shavertown United Methodist Church she sang in the choir. She was a soloist at many weddings and special events and long time member of the Orpheus Choral Society and other singing groups in the Back Mountain. While living in Dallas, Marie served as a Judge of Elections and poll worker and held several bookkeeper positions for local companies and organizations. She was a life member of the Order of the Eastern Star, Dallas, PA Chapter. She loved baking and sewing and was known for her Christmas cookies.
