Marie C. Oakes, 94, formerly of Lenni, died on April 16, 2023 at her home. Born in Morton, the daughter of the late Lawrence and Emily Vituli Mazzone, she had previously been a resident of Lenni for 44 years.

Marie was a graduate of Ridley High School, class of 1947 and had previously been employed as an Administrative Assistant at Flextron Industries. She loved cooking and gardening but most important was her loving family.

She was the loving wife of the late John I. Oakes, Sr., mother of Joseph D. Oakes (Deborah) and the late Robert J. and John I. Oakes, Jr., cherished Mom-mom of Robert, Kylie, Jason, Jamie and Stacy Oakes and Camille Bradford, great-grandmother of Layla, Aundrea, Arianna, August, Samuel, Allyson and Frederick, mother-in-law of Susan Steward Oakes and Patricia Chattin Bertrand, she was also sister of the late Anthony Mazzone and Lucille Mazzone Murphy.

Funeral Mass 11 AM Friday, April 21, 2023 at St. Francis de Sales R.C. Church, 35 New Road, Aston, PA 19014 where relatives and friends may call 9:45 to 10:45 AM. Burial will take place in the adjoining church cemetery.
