Obituary

Marie B. Luke (née Molteni) was born on August 8, 1931, in New Rochelle, NY, the daughter of the late Richard and Carmela Molteni.

After her early years in New Rochelle, Marie moved to Pennsylvania with her husband. The couple spent 70 years in Aston before relocating to Maris Grove in 2022. Marie was a devoted member of St. Joseph Parish in Aston since 1952 and took part in many parish activities, notably the St. Joseph Women's Sodality.

Marie's greatest joy came from raising her six children. She remained an avid reader until the final week of her life and spent many years traveling across the United States and Europe with her husband. Marie was an early advocate for recycling and environmental protection.

She expressed her creativity through ceramics with her Concord Square neighbors and later became a skilled watercolor artist. Sewing was another life-long passion—Marie created clothing, including elaborate dresses and suits for herself and her children, and crafted beautiful quilts. She also delighted in gardening, cooking, and enjoying a cup of tea.

Marie contributed to organizations such as the Isaac Young High School Class of 1949 Reunion Committee, Neumann University Cultural Arts Committee, Women's Club of Aston, Concord Square Civic Association, American Legion 926 Ladies Auxiliary, and sold Avon for many years. Later, she found success as a real estate agent. More than anything, Marie cherished the time spent with her family, and her life was a testament to love, creativity, and service.

Marie enjoyed 71 years of marriage with Thomas B. Luke, who passed before her. Together, they raised six children: Marie DiGiulio (Philip), Richard Luke (Theresa), Donna Spencer (Richard), Elizabeth Luke, Patricia Reeves (Charles), and Thomas Luke (Sherry). Marie's legacy also includes 14 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren, she was also the sister of the late Dolores Molteni.

A Funeral Mass will be held at 11 AM on Tuesday, August 5, 2025 at The Church of St. Joseph, 3255 Concord Road, Aston where relatives and friends may call 9:45 to 10:45 AM.  Burial will follow in St. Thomas the Apostle Cemetery in Glen Mills.
