Maria D. Matteo Wushensky, 90, of Eddystone died April 29, 2020 at Wesley Enhanced Living. Born in Chester, she was the daughter of the late Thomas and Marion Johnston Matteo.

Maria was employed as a Librarian at the Eddystone Elementary School in the Ridley School District. She was a member of St. John the Evangelist Episcopal Church and loved crossword puzzles. Maria enjoyed arts and crafts, reading and sewing, but most important was spending time with family.

She was predeceased by her husband of 57 years, Edward Wushensky, who died August 15, 2009; and seven brothers, Frank, Thomas, George, Robert, Joseph, Ronald and William Matteo.

Maria is survived by her children, Curtis A. Wushensky, MD (Sharon) and Lori Wushensky; grandchildren, Adam Wushensky (Wesley Zarnowitz), Scott Wushensky, and Julie Wushensky (Nicholle Aston); and her brother, Alfred Matteo (Peggy).
